Penella or Pen-ella is a classroom project--built from my own imagination. Bibbity boppity boo! The name is inspired by Cinderella, otherwise known as Cinder-ella. Penella is a journalling website unlike any other, given its customizable nature and additional features such as a calendar moodboard, gifs, and stickers.
The Problem
People don't have time to physically journal or bullet journal, but still want a place to organize their thoughts and call their own.
The Process
I first began the process by finding potential users to interview. I found an array of people that had different consistency levels with journaling. Through these interviews, I learned a lot about why people enjoyed journaling and the different aspects that each journalist liked to specifically do in their journaling. These interviews helped to guide my design process. To see this entire process from start to finish please click on the link below to see a Google Slides page.
Benchmarks
Below are a few images of the benchmarks I've created for this project. Please see the link down below for more examples. The link will send you to a Google Slides page.
Storyboards
Here are some of the storyboards I have created to illustrate the use cases that potential users may have. From my user interviews, I understood that journaling is meant to be an outlet for people to express their emotions.  It is especially important when people feel overwhelmed in their life.
Prototypes
Below are the high-fidelity prototypes for desktop and mobile for three user flows. These user flows were designed by considering the roles/goals of the users. These use cases were decided based on initial interviews with potential users. The process of deciding these use cases can be seen in the Google Slides page that can be accessed up above.
