In my first semester in Generate, a student-led product development studio, I assumed the role of a UI/UX Designer. In this position, I was tasked specifically with re-imagining the browser page and brand colors for our client, who is also a Northeastern student.
Our client approached us with a well-established company, Tadpole: a website that serves to connect tutors to students and vice versa. They came to us with existing designs and a fully implemented website and it was our job to design new site functionality and re-vamp their site.
This project gave me an amazing opportunity to collaborate with my fellow designers as well as the experience of working with a client and understanding their requirements.
Initial State
Down below, we have the initial state that Tadpole gave us at the beginning of the 2022 Spring semester. You'll see that they have two colors split in between the tutor (yellow) and the student (green). Throughout the semester we started making some changes to their design.

Search Cards
The client specifically requested revision for the browser page. In this page, the students or their parents would be able to look and search through different tutors. The initial design of the browser page didn't allow the tutors to have much individuality and didn't contain enough information.
Thus, in our re-design we added a picture of the tutor, added some of the prime subjects the tutor taught, and did a general re-design of the search card's layout.

Brand Colors
At the very beginning of the semester, our design team had a general consensus that we would like to change the brand colors of the website. I was tasked with creating new color themes for the website. After much ideation and feedback over the course of a few weeks, I ended up with the colors down below. We decided on a much more vibrant palette to help better fit the theme of learning.
